Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and the "New Heights" podcast were some of the first to react to the news of Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift's engagement. Mahomes, 29, responded via his Instagram Story on Tuesday, August 26, sharing an engagement picture of the couple with three red-heart emojis. "New Heights," the podcast Kelce, 35, cohosts with his older brother, Jason Kelce, was also quick to respond on Tuesday. "NEW NEWS," the podcast's official Instagram posted, a reference to a popular segment on the show. "Congrats to @taylorswift @killatrav." Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's Relationship Timeline Before Engagement Kelce and Swift, 35, announced their engagement on Tuesday. "Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married ," the couple wrote in a joint post via Instagram. The post was accompanied by a carousel of photos from an ethereal garden, showing the Kansas City Chiefs tight end dropping to one knee. Another picture showed off Swift's massive new engagement ring. New Heights Instagram Swift and Kelce were first officially linked in September 2023, when the pop star attended one of Kelce's games in Kansas City. Since then, she has become an integral, intertwined member of Chiefs Kingdom, including a friendship with Mahomes' wife, Brittany Mahomes. Brittany also reacted to the engagement news on Tuesday, writing via her Instagram Story, "Two of the most genuine people meet & fall in love. Just so happy for these two. ." Last year, Patrick explained how going on double dates with Brittany, 29, Swift and Travis was a surprisingly normal ordeal.
