Director Simon Stone's psychological thriller begins streaming Oct. 10. Guy Pearce, Hannah Waddingham, David Ajala, Art Malik, Kaya Scodelario, David Morrissey, Daniel Ings and Gugu Mbatha-Raw round out the cast. When the crew insists that it never happened, Lo attempts to uncover the truth and finds her own safety at risk. But Only in Japan "There's nothing to be embarrassed about, Laura," Pearce tells Knightley in the trailer. "You were convinced what you saw was real." She promptly replies, "It was real." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1QbfJzTPY4w Later in the footage, Knightley insists, "I am not imagining this." Stone helmed the movie from a script he co-wrote with Joe Shrapnel and Anna Waterhouse. The screenplay is based on Ruth Ware's 2017 novel, in addition to an adaptation from Emma Frost. Debra Hayward and Ilda Diffley produce the project. "At its heart, the film is about a woman who experiences something wrong, reports it truthfully and isn't taken seriously because of who she is," Ware said in a statement. "Too many people know what that feels like, and I think we want vindication for ourselves as much as Lo." Knightley is an Oscar-nominated actress who stars in the Netflix spy series Black Doves. Pearce was nominated earlier this year for an Academy Award for The Brutalist and appears alongside Jacob Elordi and Margaret Qualley in Ridley Scott's The Dog Stars, slated for release next year.
