During a Saturday profile with The Times, the legendary Star Wars actor recalled telling his wife, Marilou Hamill, that they could move to London or Ireland after Trump won the 2024 presidency. Despite wanting to exit the country, Marilou led him to have a change of heart. "She's very clever," he said. In 2020, he took part in a Biden-Harris ad where he reacted (and critiqued) a few clips of Trump ahead of the election. Elsewhere, the Daytime Emmy winner further condemned the president and his current administration. "The bullying, the incompetence, the people in place... "It's entertaining in a way because this could actually be the end." He added, "Our status in the world has been crippled and that will reverberate for decades. Making Canada a 51st state? Do you know how offensive that is? And then taking over Greenland and renaming the Gulf of Mexico. The distractions are hilarious."
