Ayan Mukerji's spy thriller War 2 starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR has had an uneven start at the box office in India. The film opened big on Thursday with Rs 52 crore and jumped higher on Friday, thanks to the Independence Day holiday, adding Rs 57.35 crore. But the weekend failed to maintain the momentum. Saturday brought in Rs 33.25 crore, and Sunday fell further to Rs 31 crore. With these numbers, the film has collected Rs 173.60 crore in its four-day extended opening weekend, but the trend points towards a sharp drop on Monday.
