Watch: Jesse Metcalfe Addresses Rumored 'Desperate Housewives' Cast DramaJesse Metcalfe was desperately unaware of any on-set drama. Indeed, the Desperate Housewives alum insisted he was "oblivious" to the rumored tension between his costars-including Eva Longoria, Felicity Huffman, Nicollette Sheridan, Marcia Cross and Teri Hatcher-while he was playing teenage gardener John Roland on the ABC soap opera. "There's a lot of stories about all the drama on that set between some of our lead females," Jesse said while appearing on a recent panel, per People. "I was oblivious to it, basically, because I was just so thrilled to be on a show and just so in the moment." After all, the 46-year-old recalled being "just happy to have a job" at that point in his acting career. "I went through an entire pilot season-I didn't book anything" he explained. "I tested for Desperate Housewives, which was a recast, right at the end of that pilot season and ended up booking it."photosDesperate Housewives: Where Are They Now?"I was just kind of riding the wave," he added, "because that show really broke me and I had everything coming at me and I was just enjoying it." As for what really went down between the cast of the hit ABC series? While Jesse only appeared in four seasons, all eight seasons of the series were seemingly riddled with behind-the-scenes feuds. In addition to existing reports of friction between the women at the time, Nicollette filed a $20 million lawsuit against creator Marc Cherry in 2010, just months after her character was killed off the show, for alleged assault and battery, gender violence and wrongful termination.(Photo by Ron Tom/Disney General Entertainment Content via Getty Images)While Nicollette claimed that Marc struck her on the head during a 2008 rehearsal, he refuted the claims by claiming he had tapped her on the forehead to demonstrate how to play out a physical gag in a scene. The case was ultimately dismissed in 2012 after the court found that Nicollette was not wrongfully fired and deemed there was insufficient evidence to prove the assault. Nearly a decade later, shortly after Felicity pled guilty for her involvement in a college admissions scandal in 2019, Eva wrote a letter on her behalf revealing that there was an especially problematic person in the cast-though she never named names. "I dreaded the days I had to work with that person because it was pure torture," Eva wrote in a letter to the judge at the time. "Until one day, Felicity told the bully 'enough' and it all stopped. Felicity could feel that I was riddled with anxiety even though I never complained or mentioned the abuse to anyone."Photo by Andrew Eccles/Disney General Entertainment Content via Getty ImagesFor his part, Marc also seemed to reference the same difficult cast member in his own letter. "Everyone tried their darndest to get along with this woman over the course of the show," he wrote. "It was impossible. And things went from bad to worse." "Felicity still insisted on saying 'good morning' to this actress, even though she knew she wouldn't get a response," he continued. "I found out about this and asked Felicity about it. She smiled and said, 'Just because that woman's determined to be rude, doesn't mean she can keep me from being polite.'" "I want people to know that Tan and I-we will be fine," he told Vanity Fair. "There was a situation, and that's between Tan and I, and it has nothing to do with the show. It was something personal that had been brewing-and nothing romantic, just to clarify that." In March 2024, Tan responded to allegations that he had campaigned to replace Bobby on Queer Eye with his friend Jeremiah Brent. "Netflix and the production companies did a full-on casting. I didn't put my friend up for the job. They ended up getting it because they were the best person for the job," he said on Instagram. "But I didn't get them hired by getting rid of somebody else."Amanda Edwards/WireImage / Gerardo Mora / Getty ImagesShannen Doherty vs. Alyssa MilanoFollowing years of rumors of a feud between the two, on a December 2023 episode of her podcast Let's Be Clear, Shannen's former Charmed costar Holly Marie Combs alleged that Alyssa had once made an ultimatum to a show producer to choose between herself and Shannen, which ultimately led to the latter leaving the show in 2001. In February 2024, Alyssa said on Instagram, "I did not have the power to get anyone fired" and that "this was so long ago that any retelling of these stories from anyone is just revisionist history." A day later, Shannen said at a panel event at MegaCon Orlando, "There is no revisionist history happening in the truth that I know we
