There are two big reasons why it's so difficult to find new movies on HBO Max with over 90 percent on Rotten Tomatoes. For one thing, that's a rare feat that only a few films have been able to achieve. Movies that hit around 80 percent are more common. HBO Max also adds a large number of classic movies each month that predate Rotten Tomatoes rankings. Regardless, Watch With Us has once again found three new HBO Max movies with over 90 percent on Rotten Tomatoes that you can watch in August. What's New on HBO Max in August 2025: 'Peacemaker' Season 2 and More 'The Woman King' (2022) Rotten Tomatoes rank: 94 percent If you saw the Black Panther movies and thought that the all-female warriors known as the Dora Milaje were just something Marvel made up, The Woman King offers a look back at their real-life counterparts in the Agojie. For nearly three centuries, these women warriors protected the West African Kingdom of Dahomey. As is often the case, the film does take some liberties with history in the name of a better story. In the early 19th century, General Nanisca (Viola Davis) is renowned by her fellow Agojie and favored by King Ghez (John Boyega). While training a new generation of warriors, Nanisca uncovers a plot by a rival tribe that may destroy everything she's dedicated herself to protecting. The Woman King is streaming on HBO Max.
