The Masters of the Universe character, a mechanical warrior, will be voiced by Kristen Wiig in Amazon MGM Studios and Mattel's big-budget and big-screen feature, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. Universe, now in post-production, is based on the quintessential toyline first launched in the 1980s and the popular cartoon of the same era, and centers on the character of Prince Adam of Eternia who, thanks to his Power Sword, turns into the muscular He-Man and is imbued with superhuman strength and abilities. The lengthy roll call includes Camila Mendes as Teela, Morena Baccarin as The Sorceress, James Purefoy as King Randor, Alison Brie as Evil-Lyn, Charlotte Riley as Queen Marlena, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson as Malcolm/Fisto and Idris Elba as Duncan/Man-at-Arms, And let's not forget Sam C. Wilson as Trap Jaw, Hafthor Bjornsson as Goat Man, Kojo Attah as Tri-Klops, Sasheer Zamata as Suzie, John Xue Zhang as Ram-Man, and Christian Vunipola as Hussein. Roboto, built by Man-at-Arms, is a member of a corps known as the Heroic Warriors. The character has a transparent metal body allowing one to see the inner workings inside. Roboto also has one arm that features interchangeable hands, such as a claw, laser gun, or axe. The character has traditionally been voiced by a male actor. Travis Knight is directing the feature that Amazon MGM plans on releasing theatrically worldwide on June 5, 2026. Universe is produced by Escape Artists and Mattel Studios. The screenplay is by Chris Butler. Wiig, whose last live-action effort was leading the Apple TV+ comedy Palm Royale, is a seasoned pro in the voice-acting field. She has lent her pipes to movies such as the Despicable Me and How to Train Your Dragon and TV series such as Fox's Bless the Harts and Prime's Sausage Party: Foodtopia. She is repped by CAA and Jackoway Austen.
