Nick, 58, was away from the 76ers to attend Steve's funeral in Iowa on Tuesday, May 5, according to The Athletic. Steve passed away "unexpectedly" on Wednesday, April 29, the day before the Sixers defeated the Boston Celtics in Game 6 of their opening round playoff series. Philadelphia went on to beat Boston in Game 7 on Saturday, May 2, advancing to the Eastern Conference quarterfinals against the New York Knicks.
