Singer Kellie Pickler, who rose to fame as a contestant on the fifth season of American Idol, returned to the show's stage 20 years after her run. It's one of her first public appearances since her husband and musician Kyle Jacobs died by suicide in February 2023. Pickler, who has mostly stayed away from the public eye since the incident, performed during a special reunion of the 2006 American Idol cast on May 4.
