While the Met Gala is best known for its red carpet, some of the most interesting moments actually unfold once guests step inside. Earlier, the event was far more private and even today, that sense of exclusivity continues beyond the carpet. Inside the atmosphere feels more relaxed with celebrities letting their guard down, mingling freely and enjoying the evening away from constant cameras. This year's Costume Art theme carried into the night as well with the exhibit curated by Andrew Bolton setting the tone.
