For the past 78 years, the Met Gala has reigned as the fashion event of the year. Designed to raise money for the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute in Manhattan, it's also a night to ogle celebrities and A-listers wearing ambitious, themed outfits tailor-made for the wearer.
