"Fire Country" & "Matlock"CBS/Paramount CBS is reducing the episode counts for several of its shows in the upcoming season. With its Friday night schedule stacked and ranking at No. 1 for 16 straight seasons, the network wants to maintain that success by beefing up its schedule with more shows, meaning some are getting shorter seasons to make room. Fire Country, NCIS: Sydney, NCIS: Origins, and Matlock are the series that will be impacted, reports Deadline. Fire Country will leave the lineup early for its fifth season, getting cut down to 13 episodes, down from its previously 20 for season 4.
