Image Credit: AP Alex Jones, the ultra-conservative radio show host and known conspiracy theorist, was ordered to pay more than $1 billion to the families of eight victims of the 2012 Sandy Hook shootings for the damage he caused them by perpetuating a lie that the massacre was a hoax. The decision by the Connecticut court, which came on October 12, 2022, follows the $45 million in punitive damages Jones was ordered to pay another victim's family by a Texas court two months prior.
