Filmmaker Sujoy Ghosh has received significant legal relief after the Supreme Court of India quashed criminal proceedings against him in connection with the copyright case surrounding his 2016 film Kahaani 2. The decision brings an end to a prolonged legal dispute that had cast a shadow over the critically acclaimed thriller for several years. The case originated from allegations that the storyline of Kahaani 2 was copied from a novel titled The God Child, written by author Srijit Mukherji.
