Before his execution this week, a Texas man apologized through tears to the relatives of the young mother and 8-year-old boy he stabbed to death back in 2013. Cedric Ricks was put to death on Tuesday, March 17, for the capital murders of Roxann Sanchez, 30, and her son, Anthony Figueroa. Ricks, 51, received a lethal dose of the sedative pentobarbital at the state penitentiary in Huntsville. Jurors found him guilty of the May 2013 killings inside the apartment they shared in Bedford. Sanchez and Ricks were in a relationship.
