True crime stories have dominated the last few weeks on Hulu, and they aren't entirely absent this week either. But instead of focusing on terrible crimes this week, we'd prefer to embrace the joy of the animated revival of King of the Hill. That series is Watch With Us' first pick in this week's three popular Hulu movies and TV shows you need to watch this weekend. Our remaining picks of the week are a modern classic comedy and a horror flick that hit theaters earlier this year. 3 Underrated Hulu Movies to Watch This Weekend (August 8-10) 'King of the Hill' (1997 - 2010, 2025) Animation revivals don't always go smoothly, but King of the Hill fans seem to be very happy with the new 14th season on Hulu. Several years have passed since Hank Hill (Mike Judge) and his wife, Peggy (Kathy Najimy), have lived in Arlen, Texas. But life moved on without them, and the world changed. When the Hills move back home, Hank is particularly taken aback by the shift in culture and by his lack of purpose after his retirement. Meanwhile, Hank and Peggy's son, Bobby (Pamela Adlon), has grown up and become a professional chef. But what Bobby really wants is to reconnect with his childhood crush, Connie Souphanousinphone (Lauren Tom). That might be hard, considering she's dating his boss' son. King of the Hill is streaming on Hulu. 'The Devil Wears Prada' (2006) The Devil Wears Prada 2 is currently in production for a theatrical release just in time for its 20th anniversary in 2026. That may be why The Devil Wears Prada is currently enjoying a resurgence in popularity on Hulu. Anne Hathaway stars as Andrea "Andy" Sachs, a young journalist who finds herself thrust into the fashion industry as the new assistant of Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep). What's New on Hulu in August 2025: 'Alien: Earth,' 'The Monkey,' 'King of the Hill' and More Miranda isn't literally the devil, but she's a fashion magazine editor who is unafraid to stab even her closest friends in the back. She's also Andy's mentor as well as her boss, and Miranda has some hard lessons to teach her. As much as Andy believes otherwise, she's not as different from Miranda as she likes to believe. The Devil Wears Prada is streaming on Hulu. 'The Monkey' (2025) Director Osgood Perkins added some darkly comedic moments to his adaptation of Stephen King's The Monkey. Although King's short story predates the Final Destination franchise by two decades, in some ways, this film feels very similar to those movies. Theo James plays a dual role as twins Hal and Bill Shelburn. When the twins were children, their father, Petey Shelburn (Adam Scott), purchased a wind-up toy monkey that brings nothing but death and despair to anyone who owns it. The twins get a first-hand look at some of the gruesome deaths caused by the monkey. But no matter what Hal and Bill do to get rid of that cursed object, it always reenters their lives at inopportune moments. The Monkey is streaming on Hulu.
