Daniel Boczarski / Getty Images Gina sued both companies in February 2024 after being fired from the Disney+ Star Wars series The Mandalorian three years earlier. The firing came after she made several controversial posts online, including comparing having opposing political views to living in Nazi Germany, making fun of people who wore masks during the coronavirus pandemic, and seemingly mocking people who include their pronouns on social media. Gina reportedly sought compensatory and punitive damages and asked to be recast in her role. Rodin Eckenroth / Getty Images The lawsuit was slated to go to trial in February 2026, but on Thursday, it was announced that the trio had reached a confidential settlement. Barry Brecheisen / Getty Images A rep for Lucasfilm shared the news in a statement to Variety. "The Walt Disney Company and Lucasfilm are pleased to announce that we have reached an agreement with Gina Carano to resolve the issues in her pending lawsuit against the companies," the statement read. "Ms. Carano was always well respected by her directors, co-stars and staff, and she worked hard to perfect her craft while treating her colleagues with kindness and respect. With this lawsuit concluded, we look forward to identifying opportunities to work together with Ms. Carano in the near future." Ethan Miller / Getty Images Gina also issued a statement on the settlement, which she said she believed was "the best outcome for all parties involved." She added, "I'd like to thank you all for your unrelenting support throughout my life and career, you've been the heartbeat that has kept my story alive. I hope to make you proud." She also said, "I am excited to flip the page and move onto the next chapter. My desires remain in the arts, which is where I hope you will join me." Mathew Tsang / Getty Images She proceeded to thank Elon Musk, who'd funded her lawsuit as part of a promise to provide legal assistance to those who were mistreated by their employers "due to posting or liking something." He responded to her tweet with a heart emoji. Alberto E.
