Nominations have been announced for 2025 MTV Video Music Awards. Lady Gaga leads with 12 nominations including Video of the Year, Artist of the Year, Best Album and more. This marks the third time Gaga has lead nominations. Other top contenders include Bruno Mars with 11 nominations, Kendrick Lamar with 10, ROSÉ and Sabrina Carpenter with 8 each, Ariana Grande and The Weeknd with 7 each, Billie Eilish with 6, Charli xcx with 5, Bad Bunny, Doechii, Ed Sheeran, Jelly Roll, Miley Cyrus and Tate McRae with 4 each. The race for most-ever VMAs wins continues between Beyoncé and Taylor, both nominated for Artist of the Year. This year, Best Country and Best Pop Artist categories have been added. First time nominees include ROSÉ, Alex Warren, Gigi Perez, Damiano David, Leon Thomas, Blake Shelton, Bailey Zimmerman, Cody Johnson, KATSEYE, Lainey Wilson and more. The three hour show will air live September 7 on CBS and MTV and stream on Paramount+.
The 40th Stellar Gospel Music Awards hosted by BeBe and CeCe Winans will premiere August 30 on the Stellar Network. Performers will include Jamal Roberts, Jonathan McReynolds, Nathan Davis Jr., Todd Dulaney, New Direction Gospel Choir of Tennessee State University, Lisa Knowles-Smith, Adia, MAJOR., Tasha Cobbs Loenard and more. Special guest presenters will include Lil Rel Howery, Dominique Perry, Dante Bowe, Isaac Career, Trina Braxton and more to be announced. Stand Up To Cancer has added more star power to its fundraising special airing August 15. The telecast will feature performances by Jonas Brothers, Noah Cyrus, Gavin DeGraw, Marcus King, Brothers Osbourne, Jon Pardi, Jelly Roll, Dan + Shay, CeCe Winans, Nashville Community Gospel Choir. The special will also include pre-taped segments featuring Jamie Foxx, Tim McGraw, Zoe Saldaña, Reese Witherspoon, Keith Urban. Sheryl Crow will host and perform the special which will be broadcast from Nashville and air simultaneously on over 30 media platforms across the United States. The telecast will feature powerful stories from survivors whose lives were transformed by research that was made possible through donor support.
Lainey Wilson will be a part of SiriusXM's Small Stage Series at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles on August 18. The intimate show will feature Lainey performing her chart-topping hits, fan favorites and new songs from her upcoming Whirlwind deluxe album out August 22.
The Whitney Houston Legacy Foundation's 4th Annual Gala celebrating Whitney's 40th anniversary in music and entertainment will take place August 9 in Atlanta, Georgia. ET's Kevin Frazier will be hosting the event for the second year and Jennifer Hudson will be performing.
Lauren Alaina has released a new song "Little Things" dedicated to her late father. ET sat down with Lauren who opened up about losing her father last year. She shared, "Life is really short and losing my dad literally stopped me in my tracks, and made me really want to prioritize my mental health and just be a happier person in general."Jonas Brothers have released their seventh studio album, Greetings From Your Hometown. The album is a celebration of their journey and legacy over the past 20 years and draws inspiration from their New Jersey roots and lifelong musical influences. On August 10, they will kick off their 2025 JONAS20: Greetings From Your Hometown Tour with a hometown show at New Jersey's MetLife Stadium. SiriusXM also launched Jonas Brothers Hometown Radio today. The pop up channel is hand picked by Nick, Joe and Kevin as they share their full-circle journey from their New Jersey beginnings to today's anthem. The channel features their new album and they look back on the past 20 years.
Good Charlotte released their eighth studio album, Motel Du Cap. This is their most personal record to date and their first album in seven years.
