In a fresh legal twist, the Kerala High Court on Thursday stayed criminal proceedings in the obscenity case filed against Malayalam actor Shwetha Menon. The interim order, issued by Justice V. G. Arun, noted that the steps required under Section 175(3) of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) may not have been followed before the FIR was registered.
