Christie Brinkley has a suggestion for anyone considering marriage. "You could get married, like, 'We'll see if you want to renew it in five years,'" Brinkley, 71, said on the Thursday, August 7, episode of the "Are You a Charlotte?" podcast. "Every five years, go, 'Do you want to renew?'" She added, "That way, if you're getting bored or whatever, you can get out of it without all the lawyers and all that stuff." The supermodel has been married four times. She first wed Jean-François Allaux in 1973 before they split eight years later in 1981. Brinkley was later married to Billy Joel from 1985 to 1994, Richard Taubman from 1994 to 1995 and Peter Cook from 1996 to 2008. (Brinkley shares daughter Alexa with Joel, 76, son Jack with Taubman, 77, and daughter Sailor with Cook, 66, who adopted Jack after marrying Brinkley in 1996.) Christie Brinkley Calls Peter Cook Marriage a 'Tormented' Experience in Book Brinkley and podcast host Kristin Davis, who played Charlotte York-Goldenblatt on Sex and the City and its And Just Like That spinoff, further reflected on Thursday about how the art gallerist puts a lot of value into marriage. (Harry, with whom Charlotte shares two children, is Charlotte's second husband. She was previously married to Trey MacDougal, played by Kyle MacLachlan, after a whirlwind SATC courtship.) "You are so romantic, like, your notions cannot be crushed," Brinkley said of Davis' character. "You are going to believe in love if it's the last thing you do." According to Brinkley, she feels similarly about love and relationships. On an earlier episode of Davis' podcast this week, Brinkley revealed that she recently tried dating via an app at her daughter Sailor's request. "I'm not on any kind of dating app like that, but my daughter Sailor, she's so mischievous," Brinkley said on the Monday, August 4, podcast episode, noting the 27-year-old put her mom's profile on a dating app for "an hour or something." Celebrities Who Have Been Married Three Times or More Brinkley added, "She said, 'Mom, you're right not to go on it because the same guys that said yes to me are saying yes to you.' I find that what men like to do is sort of find somebody that'll be impressed by every little thing that they do. Like, 'Oh, really? You're taking me to that restaurant?'" In addition to navigating the dating scene, Brinkley is also enjoying watching her now-adult children carve their own paths outside of finding a partner of their own. "I try not to be too judgmental and all of that because I think, at this point, they've got pretty good heads on their shoulders and they know what to do," she exclusively told Us Weekly in November 2023. "Sometimes I'm amazed that they really are watching and listening [to me]. Occasionally, I'll look at them and they'll do something, and I'll just be so proud and I'll think, 'Oh my gosh, they really did hear that.'"
