Emma Betsinger and Love Is Blind fans have a bone to pick with Netflix! Viewers know that throughout her journey to find love during Season 10, Emma has been very open about her health journey. She was born with precancerous birthmarks on her body that required her to undergo at least 10 surgeries before she turned 7 to remove the ones that had a very high chance of melanoma, leaving her with significant physical scarring on her left arm. Despite this being a huge part of her storyline for the season, it appears Netflix photoshopped her scars out of the promotional photos posted to Instagram in January! This is Love Is Blind, where contestants fall in love with someone sight unseen. The show is supposed to be less about looks and more about emotional connection, so why would Netflix edit out her scarring? It's not only unnecessary and disrespectful, but it also sends the completely wrong message. It comes across like they feel she should be ashamed or embarrassed and needs to hide her scars when that's not the case. She deserves to be celebrated and seen. What they did is so messed up, especially after she talked about her insecurities over her scars on the series. And did they really think fans would not notice? Because they did, and they have some things to say about it! People took to the comments section of the post to BLAST Netflix, writing: "Love Is Blind is supposed to celebrate connection beyond appearances. Editing out a contestant's arm feels like a step backward for representation and inclusivity. Why are we still photoshopping bodies in 2026? Erasing this part of her is sending the wrong message. Foul Netflix." "Calling out @loveisblindnetflix for photo editing Emma's arm just to make the photo look better in a very irrealistic way, showing that a show that is supposed to be based on the inside actually selects people for their looks" "Why did you edit Emma's arm in her photo?" "They photoshopped Emma" "Ya'll edited Emma's arm?!? The AUDACITY." "kinda wild that yall photoshopped emma's arm" Ugh! Do better, Netflix! And for anyone giving the platform the benefit of the doubt, Emma now wants to make it clear she did not ask or give permission to edit her scars out of the photo! She had absolutely no idea they'd photoshop it! The retail merchandiser told USA TODAY on Friday: "The first [photo] I saw was just my headshot. And I actually didn't realize anything. But then my friends would text me, like, 'They kind of blurred out your arm.' I was like, 'Did they?'" Upon further inspection, Emma realized Netflix definitely blurred out her scars: "So, I didn't realize they did until I kind of double clicked into the images and took a pause and I was like, 'OK yeah.' So yeah, I did notice it. I think for the first one with my picture, I was like, 'Oh, maybe they need to blur everything.' But yeah, when I saw the full body, it was like no, they definitely blurred it a little bit." Emma admitted she "was definitely really surprised, especially because it's a part of my body and a part of who I am," adding: "But yeah, I'm not sure if there was a why or a reason based off of just production, photos, all of that stuff." Netflix owes Emma an explanation and apology now. Hopefully she gets one! Thoughts, Perezcious readers? Sound OFF in the comments (below).
