Justin Timberlake is scrambling to save his reputation! It's been nearly two years since the *NSYNC alum was pulled over in ritzy Long Island town Sag Harbor and slapped with a DUI. Who could forget all the news that came out of it... from the arresting officer being too young to recognize JT as the '90s heartthrob he is, to the Cry Me a River singer infamously claiming the arrest would "ruin the tour" ... "the world tour." From everything we've heard, the arrest just sounds hilariously embarrassing - and everything was caught on bodycam footage! Not long after the arrest, the Sag Harbor Police Department denied requests for copies of said footage, claiming doing so could potentially interfere with their ongoing investigation. Justin ended up not being convicted of a DUI, as he opted to plead guilty to a lesser, non-criminal traffic charge of DWAI (driving while ability impaired). Additionally, he paid a $500 fine, performed 25 hours of community service, and had his license suspended in New York for 90 days. But it's been nearly two years since all the drama was laid to rest, so is there any chance we could see that infamous bodycam footage now? Well, not if the pop star has anything to do with it! Related: Diddy Lands Early Prison Release - New Details! According to documents obtained by Page Six on Monday, Justin is SUING the town of Sag Harbor in an attempt to keep the footage locked away from the public. According to the docs, the video is being requested by members of the media in a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) filing, but Justin wants an order from a Suffolk County Supreme Court judge to block it from seeing the light of day in a bid to protect his reputation. According to his filing, the SexyBack singer believes the footage depicts him "in an acutely vulnerable state during a roadside encounter with law enforcement." The docs further claim the footage reveals "intimate details" of Justin's "physical appearance, demeanor, speech, and conduct." The celebrity's lawyer, Michael Del Piano, claimed release of the footage would cause "severe and irreparable harm" to Justin's "personal and professional reputation" and subject him to "public ridicule and harassment." Damn, it must really be THAT bad. Either that or Justin just doesn't feel his reputation can take another hit! It's already been teetering for the last few years between his cheating scandal and everything Britney Spears revealed about their relationship in her 2023 memoir The Woman in Me. Del Piano added the footage serves "no legitimate public interest in understanding the operations of government" and "disclosure of this footage would constitute an unwarranted invasion" of privacy. What do YOU hope to see come from this situation?? Should the video be sealed away for good, or should it be released? Let us know in the comments down below!
