Maryland lawmakers are advancing legislation to formally investigate a burial site near Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery that researchers believe contains the remains of more than 200 Black boys who died in state custody. Marc Schindler, a research professor with the Georgetown Center for Youth Justice, told the outlet that research now suggests as many as 230 children may be buried in the wooded area.
