Actor James Woods is praising Donald Trump despite the president's less-than-stellar approval rating. "Greatest President and greatest Cabinet, certainly in my lifetime," Woods, 78, wrote via X on Saturday, February 28, along with a photo of President Trump, 79, and his cabinet posing for a picture in the Oval Office. Woods post came on the same day that the president, who campaigned as a pro-peace president who promised to end wars, announced that the United States and Israel have launched ongoing military strikes on Iran. "He said he will start a war - I'm not going to start a war I'm going to stop wars," then-candidate Trump said while on the campaign trail in 2024. "We don't need the wars [in] foreign lands - countries you've never heard of, countries that don't even want us there. We were crazy, what we did - we had these endless wars, they go on for 21, 22 years spending billions and billions of dollars." We loved each other ... and he was always on my side." Woods continued, " People would say to me, 'What do you think of his politics?' I would say, 'I think Rob Reiner is a great patriot. Do I agree with some of - or many of - his ideas on how that patriotism should be enacted to celebrate the America that we both love? No, but he doesn't agree with me either, but he also respects my patriotism." Rob and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, were both found stabbed to death in their Los Angeles home on December 14, 2025. Their son, 32-year-old Nick Reiner, was arrested in connection with their deaths and charged with murder. He has pleaded not guilty and is currently being held without bail.
