Paramedics who arrived at the scene where Food Network star Anne Burrell died did not attempt to revive her with Narcan because it was already too late, according to a newly released police report. Naloxone, sold under the brand name Narcan, is a fast-acting, life-saving medication that can reverse an opioid overdose within minutes. However, medics did not administer Narcan because she was already dead, TMZ reported on Thursday, February 26. New details from the report stated that Burrell's husband, Stuart Claxton, was the one to make the grim discovery of Burrell lying face-up on the shower floor of a bathroom in their Brooklyn home at 7:40 a.m. on June 17, 2025. She was pronounced dead at 8 a.m. shortly after emergency responders entered the residence, according to the police report. Officers reportedly found "numerous over-the-counter medications mixed in a bowl" near her body. Burrell was 55. New Details of Anne Burrell's Final Days Revealed The NYC Office of the Chief Medical Examiner determined her official cause of death was "acute intoxication due to the combined effects of diphenhydramine, ethanol, cetirizine and amphetamine." On February 18, news broke that investigators found a "suicidal note" in the bedroom of Burrell's home in addition to journal entries on a bed in the same room. Claxton reportedly told authorities Burrell had "never attempted suicide in the past," had "never talked about it" and hadn't shown "any signs that she would do something like this."
