The singer made the announcement late Wednesday night on Instagram, writing in part, "While I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children's father has been ill and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them. I am sincerely sorry to everyone who bought tickets to the shows and I so appreciate your grace, kindness and understanding." Clarkson's last Vegas show was on Saturday, Aug. 2 and she was set to resume her Studio Sessions performances on Friday, Aug. 8 as the first of four more shows in August at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace. The residency is set to resume in November. That delay, Clarkson said, was due to vocal issues. "We have been working 24/7 to make Studio Sessions the most intimate and extraordinary experience with and for my incredible fans," she wrote on Instagram at the time. "I am beyond grateful that you always show up for me and I am devastated to have to postpone tonight and tomorrow's opening at Caesars. The prep and rehearsals have taken a toll on my voice." She added, "I want the shows to be perfect for y'all and I need to protect myself from doing serious damage so I am taking this weekend and next week to rest up so that we can deliver what you all deserve. The show is truly incredible. The musicians and singers are outstanding, and I want us all to start out strong." The singer was also absent from a number of episodes of her eponymous NBC daytime talk show earlier this year, prompting concern from fans as guest hosts filled in. Clarkson and ex-husband Brandon Blackstock, with whom she shares two children, were married from 2013 to 2020 before divorcing. Clarkson, who announced her Studio Sessions Vegas residency in February, recently sold a stake in her catalog to HarbourView Equity Partners, with the company saying the deal includes a portion of her biggest hits including "Since U Been Gone," "Because of You," "Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)," "Behind These Hazel Eyes," and "Underneath the Tree." The size of the stake, how much was paid and what type of rights weren't revealed.
