[Warning: Potentially Triggering Content] New details are coming out about the devastating death of Martin Short's daughter. As we previously reported, Katherine Short died by suicide at 42 years old. The Los Angeles Police Department and Fire Department responded to her residence in the Hollywood Hills shortly after 6:40 p.m. on Monday, where she was found deceased from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. A representative for the family later confirmed the news of her death to TMZ, saying: "It is with profound grief that we confirm the passing of Katherine Hartley Short. The Short family is devastated by this loss, and asks for privacy at this time. Katherine was beloved by all and will be remembered for the light and joy she brought into the world." The medical examiner also confirmed the social worker died from a gunshot wound to the head. How heartbreaking... Additionally, TMZ obtained a 911 dispatch audio of the moment authorities raced to her home and found her dead. In it, Los Angeles firefighters are heard responding to a call on her street on Monday about a "shooting." The audio then cuts to one firefighter asking if they are clear to enter before confirming the incident was "self-inflicted." They also stated that the person who called 911 from Katherine's home is "there with the patient" but unable to enter the bedroom.
