[Warning: Potentially Triggering Content] Heartbreaking news about Martin Short and his family... According to TMZ, his daughter, Katherine Short, has died by suicide. She was only 42 years old. The Los Angeles Police Department and Fire Department responded to her home in the Hollywood Hills shortly after 6:40 p.m. on Monday, where she was found deceased. Law enforcement sources say Katherine passed away from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. So, so sad. They also had two sons, Henry and Oliver Short. Their eldest daughter remained out of the spotlight for the most part, but she attended a few events with her famous dad over the years. She worked as a social worker in Los Angeles. She was also involved in a charity called Bring Change 2 Mind, which fought to break down the stigmas surrounding mental health issues. Martin is expected to perform a sold-out show with his Only Murders in the Building co-star Steve Martin on Saturday in Minneapolis. Although a cancellation announcement hasn't happened yet, we don't expect to see him up on that stage following this devastating situation. We are sending condolences to Martin and his family.
