WNBA champion Kara Braxton has sadly passed away after a devastating car crash. The Cobb County Police Department of Georgia shared the news with People on Monday. Around 5:13 P.M. on Saturday, February 21, a scary switching of lanes on the I-285 caused Kara to lose control of her vehicle and crash into a wall: "A blue 2023 Ford Mustang Mach E, operated by Kara Brown Braxton Jackson, was traveling north on I-285 approaching Cobb Parkway in the left lane. Brown Braxton Jackson failed to maintain her lane, and the Ford collided with the concrete median wall." Horrifying... The police's statement continued: "The Ford continued in a northerly direction against the concrete wall until coming to rest on the left shoulder of I-285 at Cobb Parkway. Right now, it's unclear what caused Kara to lose control, but the Selective Traffic Enforcement Program Unit of the PD is still investigating. Fans will know the basketball star from her 10 seasons in the WNBA, under teams Detroit Shock, Tulsa Shock, Phoenix Mercury, and New York Liberty. She took home the championship in 2008 with her Detroit team, and even got to meet Barack Obama, who was President at the time. Per local news station KGW8, she's survived by her two sons - Jelani Thurman and Jream Jackson - as well as her husband, Jarvis Jackson. Such a heartbreaking thing to hear. May Kara rest in peace.
