Andrew Mountbatten Windsor, formerly known as Prince Andrew, was arrested on his 66th birthday on Thursday, and the whole family seems to be in support of it. The ex-Duke of York was taken into custody on suspicion of misconduct in public office for allegedly sharing confidential information with Jeffrey Epstein while he was a trade envoy for the UK. This comes after years of allegations about his connection to Epstein, including sexual assault allegations. If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of life in prison. He added in part: "Let me state clearly: the law must take its course. As this process continues, it would not be right for me to comment further on this matter. Meanwhile, my family and I will continue in our duty and service to you all." According to Page Six, Prince William and Princess Catherine are in complete support of the monarch's statement. Per People, they're not expected to release their own statement at this time. The couple broke their silence on the Epstein files revelations earlier this month, with a rep saying they "have been deeply concerned by the continuing revelations" and "their thoughts remain focused on the victims." They didn't name Andrew at the time, but noted: "Their Majesties wish to make clear that their thoughts and utmost sympathies have been, and will remain with, the victims and survivors of any and all forms of abuse."
