Shia LaBeouf and Mia Goth were not in a good place for quite some time! Following the Transformers alum's arrest for two counts of simple battery after a brawl outside of a bar in New Orleans on Tuesday, news broke that the pair, who share daughter Isabel, secretly separated about a year ago. Shia moved to NOLA after the breakup to be close to his family, and Mia apparently was all for him leaving their Los Angeles home! In fact, a new source claimed she pushed for it amid their marital troubles! According to the source, the former couple had "a lot of drama" in the marriage last year: "Their relationship has always been complicated. They weren't getting along and had a lot of drama last year." What kind of problems they were experiencing is unknown, as the source didn't get into the details. However, we know Shia's struggles with addiction and legal troubles. They have also had a tumultuous relationship ever since they began dating in 2012 after meeting on the set of Nymphomaniac: Volume II. The two got into that nasty fight outside their hotel in Germany back in 2015, in which Shia said he "would have killed her." He and Mia also had headed toward divorce before, filing back in 2018 - two years after their livestream wedding. They reconciled by 2020 but briefly broke up again. During this time, the actor moved on with FKA Twigs - and we all know by now the alleged horrors the singer faced in that relationship. Ultimately, Mia gave Shia one last shot in 2021, and here they are again, back in splitsville. They haven't filed for divorce yet as far as we know, but the Frankenstein actress seems determined to put some distance between her and her estranged hubby. The People source shared that Mia "encouraged" Shia to move out before adding: "She loves him, but she also doesn't need him. She's very independent. She has her own life, her own career and her priority is their daughter." For his part, the Even Stevens star remains in contact with Isabel while living in New Orleans: "Shia loves their daughter and stays in touch." That's good to hear.
