Last June, news broke that Food Network star Anne Burrell had died at age 55. Stephanie Augello / Getty Images The beloved chef - who was best known as the host of Worst Cooks in America - was honored by her family in a moving statement shared with E! on June 17. "Anne was a beloved wife, sister, daughter, stepmother, and friend - her smile lit up every room she entered," they wrote. "Anne's light radiated far beyond those she knew, touching millions across the world. Though she is no longer with us, her warmth, spirit, and boundless love remain eternal." Dimitrios Kambouris / Getty Images Anne's death was initially investigated by the NYPD as a possible drug overdose, with reports stating that she was found "unconscious and unresponsive" in her home in Brooklyn, New York, on June 17. Daniel Zuchnik / Getty Images Roughly a month later, after conducting an autopsy investigation, the New York City medical examiner's office said in a statement that Anne had died by suicide. The office said that Anne died from "acute intoxication due to the combined effects of diphenhydramine, ethanol, cetirizine, and amphetamine." Andrew H. Walker / Getty Images Now, People have reported on alleged new details surrounding Anne's death. According to the outlet, which purportedly obtained a new police report, the New York Police Department said that an investigator found a "suicidal note" in the main bedroom of Anne's home following her death, as well as "suicidal" journal entries. Nbc / Getty Images Per the outlet, the NYPD confirmed in the report that in the early hours of June 17, a redacted person "married to Anne" - which seemingly refers to Stuart Claxton, who had been married to Anne for nearly four years - found her on the bathroom floor of their house "with a bunch of over the counter pills on the floor." Angela Weiss / Getty Images Before allegedly finding Anne, Stuart purportedly first "noticed that the bed was made in their room which is not normal." He then attempted to wake her by "shaking her and slapping her face," before immediately calling 911. Dave Kotinsky / Getty Images According to the report, Stuart allegedly told police that Anne had "never attempted suicide in the past," nor had she "talked about it" or shown "any signs that she would do something like this."
