"My next steps are to get a PET scan," she added. "I've been fighting with companies to get that covered." @thechristycarlsonromano / instagram.com According to the Cleveland Clinic, a positron emission tomography (PET) scan is an imaging test that uses a safe, injectable radioactive chemical called a radiotracer and a PET scanner. The device produces images of your organs and tissues, detecting diseased cells that absorb large amounts of the radiotracer, which can indicate a potential health problem. "Cancer is everywhere, which is why I got this test," Christy said.
