Chef Anne Burrell reportedly left behind a note after her death at age 55. In a police report obtained by People on Wednesday, February 18, the New York Police Department confirmed that investigators found a "suicidal note" in the bedroom of Burrell's Brooklyn home. Investigators also uncovered "suicidal" journal entries on a bed in the same room. The report claimed that a redacted person "married to Anne" had "noticed that the bed was made in their room which was not normal" in the morning of June 17, 2025. (Burrell married husband Stuart Claxton in 2021.) Claxton reportedly found Burrell and immediately called 911 when she was unresponsive. The report noted that Claxton told authorities Burrell had "never attempted suicide in the past," had "never talked about it" and hadn't shown "any signs that she would do something like this."
