Daytona 500 winner Tyler Reddick is speaking out after a video of his 6-year-old son, Beau, interacting with Michael Jordan went viral. "I don't see what other people see when it comes to this," Reddick, 30, said during a Monday, February 16, appearance on SiriusXM's The Stephen A. Smith Show. "For me, it's a huge moment. This is the biggest moment of my career." He added, "It's a huge moment for my family and for his family, and I just put that off to the side." Reddick explained he was more focused on the looks on everyone's faces "when they got to victory lane" and how "happy" they were during the celebration. "So, that's where I'm at with it," he added. NASCAR Shares Emotional Tribute to Late Driver Greg Biffle at Daytona 500 Following Reddick's Daytona 500 win on Sunday, February 15, a video of former NBA star Jordan, 63, alongside Beau made headlines. The clip, which has been widely shared on X, appeared to show Jordan grabbing at Beau and rubbing his leg. Social media users were quick to point out how it wasn't a good look on Jordan's part. Others were quick to defend Jordan, saying there was nothing wrong with the video. Us Weekly has reached out to Jordan's team and 23XI Racing for comment. Some internet users speculated that Jordan was helping Beau get ice or some liquid off his shirt. Reddick has been a part of Jordan and NASCAR driver Denny Hamlin's 23XI Racing team since July 2022. During Monday's interview, Reddick continued to defend Jordan and detailed their friendship. "From my perspective, I've gotten to know Michael and his family very well over the years I've been here with 23XI," Reddick added. (Jordan's wife, Yvette Prieto, could also be seen celebrating the Daytona 500 win on Sunday.) Reddick shares Beau and Rookie, 8 months, with wife Alexa DeLeon. The NASCAR driver's race win came months after Rookie underwent surgery to remove one of his kidneys. Frankie Muniz Recalls Last Conversation With Dale Earnhardt Before Crash DeLeon shared in an October 2025 Instagram post that doctors found a tumor on Rookie's chest that was "choking" their son's renal vein and renal artery, which caused an enlarged heart. "He will need the entire kidney removed as it is not believed to be functioning any longer. He will undergo open surgery to remove his right kidney. We're just not sure when," she wrote at the time. "Waiting is OK right now to give his heart a break while he's on BP medication. They expect his heart to fully recover because it was just an innocent bystander. We have answers but a journey ahead to bring our little Cookie home." Reddick praised his wife's perseverance through their son's health scare during a Monday appearance on Good Morning America. "I'm really proud of my wife," the driver said. "She had to go through a lot during the entire process, but she really was the centerpiece that held everyone together throughout the whole thing. It was tough."
