Nancy Guthrie's kidnappers had a motive when it came to her abduction, per Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos. In a new interview with NBC's Liz Kreutz on The Today Show, as the search for Savannah Guthrie's mom continues into its third week, the sheriff said this wasn't just some random kidnapping for ransom - he believes there could be a far more calculated motive: "I think this was an individual who had a target for whatever reason, and he has made it tough, but I've got some pretty tough investigators too." And tough it has been! With very few leads it feels like investigators are just spinning in circles trying to piece together what happened. Even though they found that glove recently, too, Sheriff Nanos said that's not what they're focusing on: "We believe we may have some DNA there that may be our suspect, but we won't know that until that DNA is separated, sorted out. To me, that's more critical than any glove I found two miles away." But one thing investigators have going for them is that Savannah being a host on Today has brought forth a lot of attention to the case: "I think a lot of that is [the] Today show, you know, you're in everybody's family.
