Veteran screenwriter Salim Khan was admitted to the Lilavati Hospital on February 17. While his family members have not released an official statement regarding his, reports indicate that his condition is serious. According to a source quoted by Bollywood Hungama, Salman Khan has dropped all his work commitments to be with his father at this moment. The source stated, "Salim saab's condition is serious. We are all concerned and hoping he would get back home the soonest." Meanwhile, Dr Jalil Parkar told NDTV that Khan was admitted to the ICU at 8.30 am today. He was first rushed to the hospital's emergency ward. The doctor further informed that they will be addressing a press bulletin at 11 am tomorrow. "A team of doctors consisting of Dr Vinay Chavan (neurologist), Dr Ajit Menon (cardiologist) and Dr Nitin Dange (neurosurgeon), and Dr Bineet Ahluwalia attended to him. However, tomorrow at 11 am we shall be addressing a press bulletin with due consent of the relatives and maintaining the confidentiality of the patient to the utmost. He is stable but is under close observation in regards to his clinical status," said Dr Jalil Parkar. Earlier in the day, his son, superstar Salman Khan, was seen arriving at the Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai. Several members of the Khan family, including Helen, Salma Khan, Arbaaz Khan, Alvira Khan, Arpita Khan, and Aayush Sharma were seen visiting the hospital. Salman Khan's close friend Iulia Vantur was also seen at the hospital. Salim Khan was last seen in the public eye during Sohail Khan's birthday party last month. He also rang in his 90th birthday in November last year. Salim Khan remains one of the most influential screenwriters in Hindi cinema. He began his journey as an actor before moving behind the scenes. His writing helped shift mainstream storytelling towards morally complex heroes and socially resonant themes.
