James Van Der Beek had massive debt just a few years before he passed. As you know, the Dawson's Creek star sadly passed away after a battle with colorectal cancer last week. But before he died, he and his wife Kimberly owed some BIG bucks to the IRS for unpaid taxes. Per TMZ, the couple didn't pay their taxes in 2018 and 2019, and were slammed with a bill in 2021. This totaled up to $269,328.62! Whoa... That's a LOT of dough! But thankfully, those debts weren't left behind to his family. James and Kimberly paid off their tax debts in 2022 - two years before he found out he had cancer. But we can't even imagine how much of a stress that must've been on the family.
