Princess Catherine understood why Prince Harry had to go his own way. In the upcoming book William and Catherine: The Monarchy's New Era: The Inside Story by Russell Myers, the author claims Prince William was actually working harder than his wife to convince Harry and Meghan Markle not to leave the UK and their working royal roles back in 2020. Related: William & Catherine Break Silence On Shocking Epstein Files An excerpt of the book obtained by The Mirror on Sunday states: "Catherine had less interest than her husband in trying to persuade Harry to stay in his current role." And it's not because she already had beef with him! As an outsider, she saw the writing on the wall: "She believed William and Harry's fundamental differences as the 'heir and the spare' had created the inevitability of Harry wanting more from his role than being a bit-part player." It's not hard to see how that dynamic could grow super complicated. Maybe William was blind to it, considering he was used to how things always were?? Either way, he was bummed about the depature. The author pointed out: "William was intensely saddened at his brother's decision to quit." The excerpt notes: "He and Harry had been drifting apart for years, but now he knew deep down that there would be no turning back. Fond memories of their childhood, from helping each other through the tragedy of their mother's death, to growing up in the public eye, were now tarnished by the division at the heart of the family." Sounds like Kate Middleton knew there was no stopping what had to happen. However, years since the rift, she's supposedly been trying to help bring the brothers back together. It's difficult work, though, considering how contentious things have gotten! But King Charles III hasn't given up hope, either. Maybe one day they'll all be on better terms again...
