"We are probably the exact opposite," Grace told E! News in December, "which makes it only fun to act those scenes. It is so far from ourselves and our relationship that it's just fun to be mean and crazy." "Just as an actor, it's fun to go there, and it makes it even more exciting and safe to do it with someone you really trust," she continued. "So, it's really great." While the couple's romance doesn't mirror that of Lucy and Stephen's, they do have the show to thank for their relationship. "Jackson, I had heard, was the favorite. So, I'm excited for his thing. He gets on, and-I've told him this-I'm like, 'Oh, this is like a serious actor, like, actor-y actor.' So, I was just like, 'Ugh, God.' But he was so good." "I was like, 'Alright, it's fine, maybe we won't get along, but he's, like, perfect for the part,'" Grace, who was doing chemistry reads with all the actors auditioning for Stephen, continued. "He's so talented and great." Once they finally met in person for the next round of auditions, however, Grace, 29, admitted that everything changed. She added, "It was a completely different energy. Despite their initial reservations surrounding the leap, their relationship ultimately became a grounding force in Grace's life, which she didn't realize she needed. "I really appreciate being still in a way that I did not before I met Jackson," she reflected in a joint interview with Jackson for Teen Vogue in January. "This is the first relationship I feel really safe to be anxious in front of," she said. "He is so calming and makes me feel really listened to, and grounded and okay.
