Farhan Akhtar is gearing up to make his Hollywood debut. Yes, you heard that right. The Bhaag Milkha Bhaag actor will play an important character in The Beatles - A Four-Film Cinematic Event. He will play the part of influential Indian composer Pandit Ravi Shankar. Farhan hasn't opened up about the development yet. The other cast members who have been announced include Lucy Boynton as British actress and girlfriend of Paul McCartney, Jane Asher. The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power breakout start Morfydd Clark will play John Lennon's first wife Cynthia Lennon and Harry Lawtey has been cast as the band's original bass guitarist Stuart Sutcliffe.
The main Beatles members will be played by popular names. Paul Mescal will star as Paul McCartney, Harrison Dickinson as John Lennon, Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr and Joseph Quinn as George Harrison. Other cast members include Saoirse Ronan as Linda McCartney, Anna Sawai as Yoko Ono, Aimee Lou Wood as Pattie Boyd and Mia McKenna-Bruce as Maureen Starkey. James Norton will play the role of Brian Epstein, the band's manager, while Harry Lloyd will play producer George Martin. As the title indicates, Mendes is set to direct four individual films and there is a catch. Each film will be told from the perspective of a different member of The Beatles. The interconnected movies will chronicle the band's extraordinary rise from Liverpool to becoming the epicentre of global pop culture, ultimately tracing the path to their 1970 split. Notably, this project marks the first time that Apple Corps Ltd. and The Beatles have authorised full life-story and music rights for a scripted feature. All four films are slated for a theatrical release in April 2028.
