No, not for the long-gestating John Wick: Chapter 5, but for a newly announced, big-budget video game from Saber Interactive, the developer behind Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2. The project is described as a mature audience, third-person action game that will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. "We are collaborating closely with Saber's dedicated team to develop a game that captures the unparalleled action, brand-defining fight choreography, immersive world-building, and authenticity of the films," said Jenefer Brown, president of Global Products & Experiences at Lionsgate. Saber is honored to be working alongside Chad, Keanu and the Lionsgate team in a true collaboration to bring the world of Wick to life in a AAA game." John Wick was a surprise hit in 2014 that catapulted Keanu Reeves into the next phase of his career and made directors Chad Stahelski and David Leitch in-demand filmmakers in Hollywood. The franchise is known for its "gun-fu" action, which blends martial arts and firearms, something the game will aim to capture. Lionsgate has released four mainline films starring Reeves, a TV spinoff of The Continental, and the spinoff movie Ballerina. Though Reeves' John Wick died in Chapter 4, a fifth installment is in the works from Reeves and Stahelski, who have long teased that perhaps there was more to tell. Collectively, the movies have grossed more than $1 billion. The game announcement was made during the Sony State of Play Showcase, with a trailer revealed during the presentation.
