The person who says they know who kidnapped Nancy Guthrie is giving the feds one last chance to pay up before they give up trying to help. As we previously reported, TMZ received an email on Wednesday from someone claiming to know the identity of Savannah Guthrie's mom's kidnapper and asking the police to send 1 Bitcoin, which is worth around $66,000, in exchange for that information. The note said: "If they want the name of the individual involved then I want 1 Bitcoin to the following wallet. Time is more than relevant." According to the outlet, the individual emailed them just after 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, complaining: "I am not being taken seriously." They go on to make a few ominous statements, including that the situation has changed since Wednesday. The person said they want the money to hide after identifying the kidnapper, as they fear retaliation. In addition, they are worried they might be "incriminated like that Carlos [the deliveryman who was detained and released] guy." And if their demands remain ignored, the person said they won't try to help anymore. This note is their final attempt. Whoa. TMZ reported that no money or bitcoin has been deposited in the account. At this time, it's unknown if the feds will even give in to the demand. But we cannot stress enough how cruel it is to withhold information that could potentially save Nancy's life and get her justice. WTF. A tip line has been set up: see HERE. The FBI has offered a $50,000 reward for information leading to the recovery of Nancy Guthrie, and/or the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in her disappearance.
