Whoa. What a moment... During Pam Bondi's House Judiciary Committee hearing on Wednesday, the Attorney General refused to make eye contact with many survivors of Jeffrey Epstein who were in attendance. At one point, Rep. Pramila Jayapal asked the survivors to stand up and raise their hands if they had not had the chance to meet with the Justice Department about their allegations - and they all raised their hands to indicate no. Later, Rep. Dan Goldman had them doing a similar thing, saying in conclusion: "Despite the shameful and despicable efforts by Ms. Bondi and her department to intimidate you, how many of you are still willing to speak to the DOJ? All of them. Well, Miss Bondi, it looks like you have some more witnesses." They were all standing just feet behind Pam, who refused to turn around and acknowledge them. Not even once. Viewers were absolutely stunned by this behavior, reacting on Instagram: "Perfect snapshot of what this DOJ has done. Looked away and ignored the horrific crimes committed against innocent children and women." "This was one of the most powerful moments in the hearing." "SICK" "At least that made her look slightly uncomfortable. I mean jeezus does she have absolutely no shame ?!?" "A woman not interested in acknowledging the pain and abuse of other women is just horrendous and definitely on brand for MAGA women" "Perfect display of guiltiness!" "You know she is proud of her meanness you know it!" "As a woman, we don't claim her" "I've said it all day, this photo will haunt her forever." "There's a special place in hell reserved just for this one." "She didn't even turn around?! Face the music, your guy is guilty as sin! And you are covering for him and other powerful men. Shame." "It's disgusting how she lashed out when she didn't like the questions being asked. Where is the professionalism of being in Congress?" There are many, many more disheartened reactions like that all over the internet! And after watching the video, it's not hard to see why. Survivors deserve respect and compassion. The least she could've done is acknowledge them. Sigh.
