The exec committee of LA28 issued the voted of confidence after meeting on Wednesday and said it had enlisted outside law firm O'Melveny & Myers LLP to review Wasserman's emails with Ghislane Maxwell in 2003, three years before Epstein was first arrested in Florida on a count of soliciting prostitution. "LA28 takes allegations of misconduct seriously, and our Board is committed to thoroughly reviewing any concerns related to the organization's leadership," the exec committee stated. "Mr. Wasserman fully cooperated with the review. We found Mr. Wasserman's relationship with Epstein and Maxwell did not go beyond what has already been publicly documented." His apology hasn't dissuaded his clients from leaving (Chappell Roan, Chelsea Cutler, Dropkick Murphys, Sylvan Esso) or publicly issuing an ultimatum that they'll leave if he doesn't resign (Beach Bunny, Best Coast) or signaling that their allegiance is ultimately to their agent and not Wasserman. The flood of public artist comments marks a rare case of clients publicly calling on a sitting top executive at the height of his power to step down. And those departures jumped from just artists in his music division to his powerhouse sports division when soccer star Abby Wambach revealed Feb. 11 she was exiting Wasserman. Wasserman's LA28 board includes his M&A lawyer Alison Ressler; Democratic Party donors like Jeffrey Katzenberg; and sports business figures he's worked with such as former Lakers owner Jeanie Buss as well as Republican-oriented appointees including Elaine Chao, Kevin McCarthy, Reince Preibus and Diane Hendricks. Wasserman's international visibility as chairman of the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Committee has drawn increasing attention to his decades-old ties to Maxwell as well as his presence on that flight with Epstein in 2002. The executive visited the Milan Cortina games in Italy this month, where IOC chair Kirsty Coventry was asked by reporters about the emails. "Casey has put out a statement. I have nothing further to add on that," Coventry responded. The mogul's emails to Maxwell from spring 2003 include her sharing that she'd been thinking of him "at inappropriate moments," to which he responded, "I think of you all the time ... So what do I have to do to see you in a tight leather outfit? I am in NY tonight, youre not, what am I to do? Xoxo cw." Since 2014, Wasserman has steered L.A.'s Olympics ambitions and the mogul has been personally involved in orchestrating the complex machinations to bring the Summer Games to the city as well as draw in blue chip sponsors for what's been described as a privately funded event. For sponsors, Wasserman has partnered with NBCUniversal ad chief Mark Marshall and John Slusher, CEO of the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Properties, to ink deals with Starbucks, Google, Intuit and more. The full statement from the LA28 committee is below: After meeting on Wednesday, February 11, the Executive Committee of the Board issued the following statement:LA28 takes allegations of misconduct seriously, and our Board is committed to thoroughly reviewing any concerns related to the organization's leadership. With the assistance of outside counsel at O'Melveny & Myers LLP, a review was conducted of Mr. Wasserman's past interactions with Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. Mr. Wasserman fully cooperated with the review. We found Mr. Wasserman's relationship with Epstein and Maxwell did not go beyond what has already been publicly documented. Twenty-three years ago, before Mr. Wasserman or the public knew of Epstein and Maxwell's deplorable crimes, Mr. Wasserman and his then-wife flew on a humanitarian mission to Africa on Epstein's plane at the invitation of the Clinton Foundation. This was his single interaction with Epstein. Shortly after, he traded the publicly-known emails with Maxwell. The Executive Committee of the Board has determined that based on these facts, as well as the strong leadership he has exhibited over the past ten years, Mr. Wasserman should con
