by Ellen DurneyBuzzFeedBuzzFeed Staff Timothée Chalamet's favorite movie he's ever made is Interstellar, which is ironic because most people forget that he's even in it. But, as you'll probably know, the film focuses primarily on Cooper's relationship with his daughter, Murph, who is played by Mackenzie Foy and Jessica Chastain at different points in the movie. (The older version of Tom is played by Casey Affleck.) Warner Bros. / Paramount In the past, Timothée has spoken about the heartbreak of watching the movie for the first time and realizing how minor his role really was. "I really had no career at this point, so I was like the fraud a little bit in the room," he said in 2018, recalling an early screening of the movie. "I saw it, and I loved it, but I went home to my dad and wept for an hour because I just figured my part was bigger. They didn't even cut anything. I just figured- I don't know what I figured." Brown / Getty Images, Jb Lacroix / Getty Images One of the most emotional scenes in Interstellar is when Cooper watches years of messages from his kids, who've been getting older back on Earth. Timothée recorded messages as Tom, although he and Chris apparently weren't on the same page about how the dialogue should be delivered. Warner Bros. / Paramount Pictures "There was a particular thing where you were hitting a dark tone. It felt too much for me. I didn't particularly like it," Chris said, explaining that he gave some notes, but Timmy didn't take them on board. "You went ahead and did whatever the fuck you wanted and carried on," he recalled. However, Chris shared the story to praise Timothée for standing his ground. Karwai Tang / Getty Images "I was like, 'He knows what he wants to do and has an idea,'" the director continued. "It wasn't about being stubborn. You had planned what you wanted to do. You planned your choices, and you didn't want to abandon that on a casual whim for me. You wanted to test that and challenge that and see if I kept coming back, which I didn't. I'll find a logic to that in the edit suite." Kevin Winter / Getty Images In the end, Tom's message to Cooper was kept in the movie the way that Timothée performed it, but I wanna hear your thoughts: Do you agree with Chris's take, or should Timmy have at least taken his notes on board?
