Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone have heightened the security outside their Mumbai residence after the Dhurandhar actor received threatening messages. As per an official letter from the housing complex to the Dadar Police station, they have deployed 6 armed personnel outside their residence, with permission of the Society Managing Committee. Another uninformed police personnel member has also been stationed there, as per Hindustan Times. This comes after several reports claimed that the actor has received an extortion threat through a WhatsApp voice note. The unidentified sender reportedly demanded Rs 10 crore from the actor's manager, following which he approached the police. The reason behind the threat is unknown so far, and no one has claimed responsibility for it yet. The Mumbai police are investigating the case and trying to find out who the sender is. This comes weeks after four gunshots were heard outside filmmaker Rohit Shetty's Mumbai residence. Shortly after, a Facebook post surfaced claiming responsibility for the firing in the name of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, a group already known for issuing threats to high-profile individuals. The post warned Rohit not to interfere in their matters, saying that when he "did not understand", they showed him a "small trailer" and threatened that if he still "fails to understand", the next shot would be fired "inside the bedroom". Meanwhile, talking of Ranveer Singh, he will next be seen in the second part of Dhurandhar. Titled Dhurandhar: The Revenge, it will follow his character's journey as he tries to dismantle the Pakistani terror network from within. The Aditya Dhar directorial also stars Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Rakesh Bedi, Sara Arjun and Danish Pandor, among others. It will be released theatrically on March 19.
