Demi Lovato took to Instagram on Tuesday to share news she clearly did not want to have to deliver: that several dates on her upcoming It's Not That Deep Tour have officially been canceled or rescheduled. Ugh!! And while fans online are understandably disappointed, the reason behind the decision is one that deserves respect and real consideration. Related: Demi Dresses Up As THAT Iconic Meme! In her IG Stories message, Demi didn't hide behind PR speak or empty reassurances. Rather, she spoke directly to fans about the reality of what she's facing as she gears up to return to the stage. Touring is no joke. It's physically demanding, mentally draining, and emotionally intense, especially for an artist who pours as much of herself into her performances as Demi always has. About that, she noted: "I am so excited to get back on stage this year and visit you in as many cities as I can. While starting to prepare for the tour, I realized that I have overextended what may be possible. To protect my health, and ensure I can give you my all at each show, I need to build in more time to rest and rehearse and ultimately adjust to a schedule with some more time off that will allow me to handle the entire run of the tour." Overextended! Oh, no! Now, as a result, five tour stops have been canceled altogether: Nashville, Atlanta, Las Vegas, Denver, and Charlotte. Plus, the Orlando, Florida, date has been rescheduled to April 13, and that show will now serve as the official kickoff for the tour. Tickets for Orlando will still be honored, while canceled dates will be refunded through Ticketmaster or AXS. Demi also made sure to acknowledge the disappointment her fans are surely feeling by adding: "I am so sad to say that I will no longer be able to see you on this tour and I am so sorry to those who planned to be there." She closed the message on a hopeful note, reminding everyone that this decision is about longevity: "I am so excited for this tour and am looking forward to seeing so many of your faces singing with me! Thank you for your support always. I love you and I cannot wait to see you soon." Amen! / (c) Demi Lovato/Instagram The It's Not That Deep Tour was first announced last October alongside an album of the same name. The project marked Demi's first full release since Holy Fvck in 2022, and it was widely seen as another chapter of hard-earned creative freedom. While Demi didn't disclose any specific health concerns with this news, longtime fans know her history. She has been open for years about her struggles with mental health and substance use, and live touring can obviously be a pressure cooker, even under the best circumstances. So, choosing rest now - instead of pushing until something breaks - feels not only responsible but also deeply self-aware. And honestly, Demi choosing herself is a powerful, commendable move.
