Oh no, no, no. This is absolutely not the headline anyone wanted to read coming out of the 2026 Winter Olympics. Lindsey Vonn, the iconic, fearless, comeback-queen of American skiing, was brutally injured during the women's downhill final and had to be airlifted off the mountain after a horrifying crash that left fans and fellow athletes completely shaken. The crash happened just 13 seconds into her run, which somehow makes it even more gut-wrenching. Vonn's right ski pole reportedly got caught in a course marker, throwing her completely off balance at high speed.
