Over two decades after starring in the big-screen adaptation of the beloved children's classic Tuck Everlasting, Alexis has returned to the Natalie Babbitt novel once again, this time narrating the audiobook to celebrate the book's 50th anniversary. The Gilmore Girls alum originally starred as Winnie Foster in the 2002 film adaptation of the 1975 book, alongside Jonathan Jackson-who played her love interest Jesse Tuck-Ben Kingsley, Sissy Spacek, Victor Garber, Elisabeth Shue and William Hurt. "It has been an amazing experience to revisit this world," Alexis said in a May statement to People. "Tuck Everlasting holds a special place in my heart, having played Winnie Foster in the film many years ago." In a clip released of Alexis, the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants star can be heard reading the first paragraph of the Newbery Honor-winning book, which sets up the tale of Winnie, a young girl in 1914 America who meets the Tucks, a family who gained immortality after drinking from an enchanted spring in the woods.
